The date of the Group I Main Exam has been released by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). The written exam will be conducted from 28 to 30 May, as per the latest schedule released on the website.
The preliminary written exam was conducted on 3 January this year after it was initially scheduled to take place on 5 April, 2020. The results were declared on 9 February. The recruitment drive aims at filling 66 vacancies. As per the official notification, there were 69 vacancies, however, it should be noted that the number was reduced to 66 before the preliminary result.
The application process opened on 20 January, 2020 and closed on 19 February, 2020. Vacancies are for several posts namely Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Assistant Director of Rural Development, and District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services).
Applicants who have qualified to appear for the main examination will have to pay an application fee of Rs 200. The exam is divided into three sections namely Paper I, II, and III and will be of 750 marks with 250 marks allotted to each paper. Students will be given three hours to finish each paper. While the interview carries 100 marks.
