I’m Aftershocked

A bunch of VR news has popped up in the last couple of days. The Oculus Gaming Showcase has shown off some pretty interesting games, including a deeper look at the newly announced Resident Evil 4 VR game. While there was a lot of news and announcement for upcoming games, we also got a look at new content The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. A short gameplay trailer for the Aftershocks update was revealed with rather… explosive revelations. This will be a free content update released on all platforms next month.

Saints and Sinners Aftershocks

The trailer for Aftershocks shows an extension to the game’s story, taking place after the main events. In Aftershocks, the player gets word of Reserve supplies being dropped. There is also a new cultish group of mask-wearing human enemies called The Reclaimed that players will encounter. We see explosive devices getting a lot of use throughout the trailer, so you can bet that this will be a popular means of combat in the new update. There are traps like propane tanks and throwable impact grenades that send humans and walkers flying through the air.

You asked and of course, we delivered. The AFTERSHOCKS hit May 20th.#AFTERSHOCKS #TWD #thewalkingdead #VR pic.twitter.com/W2uQU8kaQl

It has been almost a year since the Meatgrinder update for Saints and Sinners, so after this, we will have to wonder when the next update will be, if there will be one. The Aftershocks update will be coming to Oculus, Steam VR, PSVR, and Viveport on May 20th. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is available now for PSVR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, Vive, and Steam VR.

10 Reasons to Jump Into Season 3 Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Are you ready for another season in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone? This week, Season 2 comes to an end, punctuated by a bang of nuclear proportions. Big changes are coming and a new era in the fight begins on April 22. Warzone and Black Ops Cold War multiplayer will see their worlds intertwine. In Black Ops Cold War, we flash forward to 1984 with Frank Woods still on the hunt for Russell Adler. We’ll be introduced to two new Perseus operatives travelling to Mount Yamantau to uncover Cold War secrets that could turn the tides of war. In Warzone, the Verdansk we know ends and we’re drawn back in time to 1984 where the battle between the CIA and Perseus heats up. There’s a ton of changes and content coming to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, so we’re here to break down the top 10 reasons why Season 3 could be the best yet!

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone - Season 3

10.) Hunt for Adler

Season 3 kicks off with a limited-time event called “Hunt for Adler” where players will complete in-game challenges in both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with the goal of finding Russell Adler. Completing this event will net players with some sweet swag and a badass Adler skin. If you sleep on this event, you miss out. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and should create for some memorable Call of Duty moments.

9.) 100 More Tiers of Content

Just like the previous two Black Ops Cold War seasons, Season 3 brings gamers a brand new, 100 tier Battle Pass with content ranging from new blueprints, weapon skins, operator skins, mix tapes, and operators. As usual, the grind for all 100 tiers is brutal and takes a fair amount of commitment – but the dedicated will be rewarded.

8.) Fresh Zombies Content

Last season, we were introduced to Outbreak, a vastly superior zombies experience that is far more accessible to players. This season will introduce a brand new Outbreak area set in the Ural Mountains. There will be new vehicles, world events, and even a new field upgrade; Toxic Growth, which causes enemies’ movement to slow while they suffer toxic damage within a targeted area.

7.) New Operators

Season 3 brings 4 operators to the fight; 3 brand new operators plus one fan favourite. Joining the Warsaw Pact is Wraith, Knight, and Antonov. Wraith is a cold-blooded femme fatale and Stitch’s right hand. Knight is a brutal former MI6 agent with a mean streak. We’ll be introduced to both at the start of the season as they infiltrate Mount Yamantau under the direction of Stitch. Antonov, who will be introduced mid-season, is an ex-hitman with a criminal past. Finally we’ll see the return of Captain Price, a fan favourite from Modern Warfare – everyone who owns Black Ops Cold War will get Captain Price, free of charge.

6.) More Bang For Your Buck

The sixth reason to jump into Season 3 is the six new weapons you’ll be able to use to dispose of your enemies. Included will be the PPSh-41 (SMG), Swiss K31 (sniper rifle), CARV.2 (tactical rifle), AMP63 (pistol), Baseball Bat (melee) and the beloved Ballistic Knife (melee). There’s a little something here for all styles of play. These weapons will be available at various times throughout the season.

Prepare For Your Adventure

For a long time, you could be forgiven for thinking Biomutant would never come out. Now we’re just over a month away from the release date, and while the game has flown under the radar compared to some of next month’s sexier releases – like Resident Evil: Village or Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, there’s still a lot to be excited for from THQ Nordic’s game, not least the gorgeous world showcased in the new trailer.

The trailer is low on action, but heavy on exploration. We see the customizable protagonist exploring a variety of gorgeously rendered vistas, from ruined towns to lush green valleys to the snowy tundra. We also get to see some of the hero’s gadgets on display, from the helipack to the speedboat to the mechs, including one shaped like a hand.

Sadly, we don’t get too much of a look at the heroes biological (or biomechanical) upgrades, but we do get to see them using their wings, which are just one of the ways you can customize the character. We also don’t get much of a look at the story. What we do know, so far, is that the game is set in a world that’s struck by a natural disaster, with mysterious oil coming from beneath the ground to destroy the tree of life. Your goal is to either heal the tree or destroy it, allying (or eliminating) the tribes who themselves either want to save the world, or destroy it. The game features a branching narrative, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this is a world that I, personally, want to save.
