In the wake of Oprah Winfrey’s blockbuster interview with the pair, Lifetime has greenlit the telemovie “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” what is being dubbed a ‘trilogy capper’ about the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The new film is a follow-up to 2018’s “Harry & Meghan” which chronicled the love story of UK Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle, and 2019’s “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal” which covered their first year of marriage.

This one promises to “reveal what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie.”

The work also promises to “reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties.”

Lifetime is now billing the three movies as a trilogy, a Harry & Meghan Creative Universe (HMCU) as one trade paper dubs it. Both director Menhaj Huda and writer Scarlett Lacey are set to return in the same capacities following their work on the earlier films.

The previous films had different actors in the roles and the same is expected again here with casting currently underway. Production is set to begin this spring ahead of an airdate eyed for this Fall.

After years of trying to get the film going, filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of “Killers of the Flower Moon” is finally underway.

Apple Original Films and the Oklahoma Film + Music Office have issued an announcement saying that principal photography is officially underway in Oklahoma.

Scorsese said in the statement: “To be able to tell this story on the land where these events took place is incredibly important and critical to allowing us to portray an accurate depiction of the time and people.”

Based on David Grann’s acclaimed 2017 best-selling non-fiction crime novel, the story is set in 1920s Oklahoma and explores the serial murders of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation – a string of brutal crimes that would later become known as the Reign of Terror.

The cast includes Jesse Plemons, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.

Production of the film is being aided by the Osage Nation, who are helping to scout numerous locations across the state for potential filming.

Scorsese helms from a script he co-wrote with Eric Roth. Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and DiCaprio will produce.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson have all been tapped to direct the sequel to the Oscar-winning animated feature “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” at Sony Pictures Animation.

Dos Santos’ directing role had been previously announced, but the trio has reportedly been working together on the project from the start.

Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Christina Steinberg are all returning to produce while the original film’s co-director Peter Ramsey will executive produce along with Aditya Sood.

In addition, Lord and Miller will join David Callaham (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) as the film’s credited screenwriters.

In a joint statement, the directing trio says: “The crew behind the ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ set such a ridiculously high bar, and we’re humbled to take on the challenge of charting the next chapter in the story of Miles Morales.”

Powers previously co-directed Pixar’s “Soul” and wrote the script for “One Night in Miami” based on his play. Thompson served as production designer on the first ‘Spider-Verse’ film while Dos Santos is an animation veteran who has helmed episodes of “The Legend of Korra,” “Justice League Unlimited,” “Teen Titans,” “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Voltron: Legendary Defender”.

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is scheduled to open in theaters on October 7th 2022.
